After a book publishing career that spanned over two decades, I left the industry to write my own book,The Perfect Score Project: One Mom’s Journey to Uncover the Secrets of the SAT.
I thought I would continue writing, but the book spawned a second career as a tutor — an unexpected career twist that instantly became my passion.
My tutoring business began with the SAT but quickly grew to include various standardized tests, including the ACT, AP Exams, the SSAT, ISEE, and SHSAT, as well as schoolwork and college preparation. From helping students tackle English and history papers, math assignments and personal essays, test prep, and test anxiety, my ultimate objective is to empower students to take ownership over their education (and to learn to love learning!).
As a result, I have developed close, long-term relationships with students and their families. I’ve seen former students perform on Broadway and dance at Lincoln Center, celebrated high school graduations, and coached students through grad school and first-job applications.
For me, working with middle and high school students is not only rewarding but a never-ending source of joy.
Please feel free to reach out and discuss your child’s needs and goals. While I live in New York City and see students in person at my Lincoln Center office, I also work on Zoom with students from around the world.
You can reach me at [email protected].
I look forward to working with you.
