Just finished Work Hard, Be Nice by Jay Mathews.
Amazing story. Incredibly moving. Compelling and really well written.
Absolute MUST READ for anyone interested in education — though I’d say it even transcends that audience and is really for anyone who likes an inspiring story about real life heros.
I’m sure the public educators have a thousand reasons why KIPP schools...

I’m reading the Stanley Kaplan memoir and here’s a quote:

Btw, the font is painfully small. Arrggg. Literally hurts my eyes to read.
Update: Had to put the book down due to terrible eye strain. Headed to drugstore. A little depressed.
